PEACE BREAKS OUT IN WORKER'S COMP
It appears both business and labor are happy so far with the way the Texas Department of Insurance is implementing the new workers' compensation law. The 2005 bill abolished the Texas Workers Compensation Commission and replaced it with a new Division of Workers Compensation within the Texas Department of Insurance. It also replaced the old six-member commission appointed to staggered terms with a single commissioner appointed by the governor.
